How Neff Functions make Cooking and Hosting Easier

19th October, 2026 | Kitchen News

How Neff CircoTherm®, Slide&Hide® and Air Fry make home hosting easier. Smart cooking functions for a bespoke kitchen or refurbishment.

Anyone who has hosted a dinner at home knows the feeling. Your guests are chatting in the next room, and you are in the kitchen trying to get everything ready at the same time, while also thinking about dessert.

More than 70% of British dining occasions now take place at home, according to AHDB, and Lakeland’s 2024 research found that 75% of 25- to 34-year-olds have hosted a dinner party.

We can take much of the stress out of home hosting by designing a kitchen that works for you. When we plan a bespoke kitchen, we choose appliances around how you actually cook and how you like to entertain. Neff ovens play a big part in that, because many of the jobs that usually keep you stuck at the oven door are now built into the appliance itself.

Here is how the right Neff functions can help, whether you are cooking for a full table at Christmas or simply want weeknight meals to be a little easier. Not every function is available on every model, which is one reason it helps to talk it through with someone who knows the range well.

How can I cook a whole meal in one oven at the same time?

CircoTherm® is Neff’s own hot-air system. A fan at the back of the oven pulls in air, heats it, then sends it back into the oven so the temperature is even from the top shelf to the bottom.

This is multi-cooking at its simplest. You can cook different dishes on different shelves at the same time without the flavours mixing. You could bake a fruit crumble on the shelf below the salmon, and neither would pick up the other’s flavour.

For easy entertaining, this function can make the biggest difference. You get consistent results on every tray, so you can have a three-course meal ready at the same time. You spend far less time juggling timings or moving hot trays and dishes around in the oven, and more time with your guests.

Crisp Vegetables in a Neff Oven

Can my oven replace a countertop air fryer?

Air fryers have become a fixture in British kitchens. Leatherhead Food Research (December 2025) found that 65% of UK households now own one.

Many Neff ovens now have a built-in Air Fry function. It uses the grill and fan together to give crisp results with little or no oil. The difference when you are hosting is capacity. Instead of cooking in small batches from a basket, you can serve a full tray of crisp snacks or roast potatoes in one go.

It also means one less appliance sitting on the worktop, which matters in a bespoke kitchen design where clear surfaces are part of the plan.

What makes the Slide&Hide® door different?

Neff’s Slide&Hide® door slides away completely under the oven, so it is never in your way. You can stand right at the oven to baste a joint or lift out a heavy dish without reaching over a hot, open door.

In a busy kitchen, especially an open-plan one where guests tend to gather, that extra space makes a real difference to how safely and comfortably you can cook.

Is steam cooking only for healthy food?

Steam helps food hold on to its moisture and colour, and it helps keep the nutrients in too. Vegetables stay bright, and fish stays tender.

Steam is not just for lighter dishes, though. Adding steam during the first ten minutes of baking gives croissants and bread a crisp, bakery style crust with a soft centre. For anyone who enjoys baking for guests, it is one of the most impressive functions in the range.

Neff offers ovens with Added Steam, which brings steam into your normal cooking, and FullSteam models that can also work as a dedicated steamer. We can show you the difference in our showroom and help you decide which suits the way you cook.

What can I do with the leftovers?

In the UK, a household of four throws away around £1,000 of good food each year, according to WRAP.

The Reheat function on many Neff ovens, with steam on some models, brings leftovers back without drying them out. After a big family meal, that makes it easier to enjoy the food again the next day rather than throwing it away.

How do I get crisp roast meat without the long wait?

CircoRoasting alternates the grill and the fan to give a rotisserie-style finish. Neff says this method can cut cooking times by 35% to 40%, so you can serve crisp, juicy meat without keeping everyone waiting.

Can my oven help with homemade bread and pizza?

The Dough Proving function creates a warm, humid space inside the oven, so dough rises evenly and reliably. It takes the guesswork out of homemade bread and pizza bases, and gives you bakery-quality results in your own kitchen.

How do I keep food and plates warm between courses?

Plate Warming means your guests sit down to warm plates, so hot food stays hot for longer. The Keep Warm function holds food at serving temperature between courses, so you don’t have to rush to bring everything out at once.

For busy households, a Neff warming drawer is also worth considering. If people are eating at different times, it keeps food warm without spoiling it.

Who cleans the oven after a party?

Pyrolytic cleaning heats the oven to a very high temperature and turns grease and food residue to ash. Once it has cooled, a quick wipe is all it takes to clear what’s left. After a long evening of entertaining, that is one job you do not need to think about.

Neff Home Connect features

Can I control my Neff oven from my phone

This is where smart cooking comes in. Many Neff ovens connect to the Home Connect app. You can check how your cooking is going from your phone, and even switch the oven on when you are on your way home. It means fewer trips back to the kitchen and more time with your guests.

Why does the oven choice matter in a bespoke kitchen?

More than half of UK adults (51%) have tried to recreate a restaurant meal at home, according to research by Fieldfare with YouGov. The right appliances make it much easier.

Most new-build kitchens come with a basic single oven chosen to meet a price point. A bespoke kitchen, whether in a new build or as part of a full refurbishment, lets you choose appliances around the way you live.

That might mean an oven at eye level so the Slide&Hide® door is easy to use, or a compact steam oven with a warming drawer tucked beneath it. Getting the layout right at the design stage makes these functions easy to use every day, and it is the first step toward effortless entertaining.

“People often ask me whether they will actually use all the functions on a Neff oven,” says Chris Beale, Managing Director of House of Harmony. “The honest answer is that most people settle on a handful they use all the time. Our job is to find out which ones matter to you before the kitchen is designed, so the oven you choose earns its place.”
